New system of property registration fees in Flanders as of 1/6/2018

When purchasing a property in Belgium, registration fees must be paid. Which percentage applies depends on the property’s cadastral income (KI) as well as the family situation of the buyer. The KI refers to the estimated yearly rental income a property may yield. From 1 June 2018 onwards, a new regime will apply for properties located in Flanders.
